Jivanji Jamshedji Modi spent a lifetime in the pursuit of knowledge. He was elected as Fellow of theUniversirty of Bombay in 1887. Thereafter he was awarded a Dipl. Litteris et Artibus (Sweden, 1889), Shams-ul-Ulma (Government of India, 1893), Officier d’Academie (France, 1898) and Officier del’Instruction Publique (France, 1902.)
