Description

Ervad Rooyintan P Peer, reviewing the book for Parsiana (May 21, 2010), notes that this book is an English translation of  Apara Chim-i-Kustig by the same author. The reviewer goes on to quote the author, “The purport of this work is clear. It is a textbook for the student of a priestly training school or a scribes training school, in that a stage is represented as expounding the meaning of the sacred girdle to a student, through questions and answers. The treatment is philosophic and dualistic: the divisions and the concord of the science and the belief; the view of man as a microcosm, so that the human body is a miniature copy of the material world, and the human winds resemble the two cosmic spirits.”

Ervad Peer opines that what makes this book unique is that the available texts of the Pazand, Sanskrit and old Gujarati versions, along with the “reproduced Pahlavi version from Pazand” are all printed together in one book, thereby making this a comprehensive study. The reviewer also informs that the interesting illustrations at the end of the book further enhance its value.
